Masters of Mind-Chess is a 16-page, fully illustrated tabletop RPG inspired by anime such as Death Note and Hunter X Hunter, where mastermind characters duel through internal monologues of their genius plans.
Masters of Mind-Chess is a 'player vs player' TTRPG, where the players compete rather than collaborate. You'll fight through Matches, battles of the mind where two players take turns to narrate how they have outwitted the previous move of their opponent. The player who fails to make a convincing point or stumble into a contradiction first loses!
The game provides three different Scenarios for the players to enjoy, and the framework of the game can easily be applied to new storylines and situations of your own creation!
To play Masters of Mind-Chess, you will need:
- At least 3 players, and ideally 4 or more.
- A few six-sided dice.
- A deck of cards.
- Pencil and paper to take notes.

Was in the mood for a jojo tactical battle and this seems like a wonderful way to do it
This is not just a fantastic idea but serendipitous! I’ve actually always desired an RPG with this exact premise since my favorites list for anime & manga is more often Non-Battle Battle Series like Kaiji, Usogui, Liar’s Game & Promised Neverland alongside series like HxH & JJBA where battles still take place but strategy feeds a major portion of the fights! Thanks for this!
